The client procured a large greenfield site in Baytown for their third surgery/imaging center. This center was to include MRI, PET CT, four operating rooms and a cancer treatment area with large vault for a linear accelerator. A 24,000sf two-story facility provided all these functions with imaging and cancer treatment and surgery center support areas on the First Floor and the majority of the surgery center on the Second Floor. The building was also designed to be LEED accredited with a possible Gold status. Solar panels on the roof, as well as a heat exchanger, low flow plumbing fixtures and careful landscaping selections all helped contribute to the LEED process.

Then in 2013, we added another 17,000sf to transform the majority of the building into Altus Baytown Hospital. The two-story addition to the Surgery Center (along with most of the existing First Floor) became a hospital with 14 inpatient rooms and four ORs and one Special Procedure Room.
