The surgery/imaging center at North 11th Street and Broadway in Beaumont was another example of an innovative solution for our client with another small piece of property and more dreams of another thriving ambulatory care center. The 16,000 sf site, a previous gas station lot, was a very snug fit for the desired MRI and CT and three operating rooms. However, after several iterations, the final successful solution was a two-story building with a small ground floor footprint for imaging – about 3,500 square feet, and a larger Second Floor footprint for surgery, about 7,600 square feet. This design also included some highly desirable covered parking as well as a covered drop-off for patients. And it featured the tan stucco and dark curtainwall finishes that were by now typical for this client.
Then in 2010, we expanded the facility to add cancer treatment and a bit more space for the surgery center.
Expansion Rendering
We provided an exam suite with Linear Accelerator vault on the First Floor and a large infusion therapy area on the Second Floor. On the upper level, we also added an additional OR to the surgery center, expanded their Pre-Op and PACU areas and added some much needed administrative space for a total expansion of 13,200sf.
